How to plan a Hytale build with Citadel Desk
Citadel Desk is a free Windows building planner and 3D schematic viewer. Open your own structure, inspect the model, and follow a layer plan while you build in Hytale.

1. Install the Windows app
Download the installer from the download and setup page. Close an older copy before updating. For the portable version, extract the ZIP into a writable folder and keep CitadelDesk.exe, CitadelImport.exe, the included documents, and the data folder together. No separate Python installation or account is required.
2. Open your own build file
Choose Open or drag a supported file into the app. Citadel Desk imports placed blocks from these file families:
- Minecraft Java: .schem, .schematic, .litematic, .nbt, Axiom .bp, and supported world .zip archives.
- Minecraft Bedrock: .mcstructure and .mcworld.
- Hytale: .prefab.json and .hytale.world.zip.
The included README lists supported versions and import limits. Entities, inventories, scripts, and game behavior are not recreated. No personal builds or game textures are bundled.
3. Inspect the structure in 3D
Use the 3D view to understand the whole structure before starting. Review its shape and blocks, then inspect the area you want to build next. The feature demo shows the app displaying an actual model.
4. Work through one layer at a time
Select a layer to focus on that level of the structure. Use the layer plan as a reference while placing blocks in Hytale, then move to the next level as you finish.
5. Review materials and record progress
Minecraft schematics open with suggested Hytale material replacements from your installed game catalog. Select a material row, then Hytale block, to search for an alternative; Automatic match resets your choice. If assets are missing, use Hytale block to locate your installation's Assets.zip. Matches are visual suggestions, so review blocks without an exact equivalent. Your replacements and building progress save together. Imports and viewing work offline.
Does Citadel Desk automatically paste a build into Hytale?
Citadel Desk converts material choices inside its planning workspace and preserves the original Minecraft schematic. It does not export a native Hytale schematic or world file, or automatically paste the structure into the game. Use its layer plans as a reference while placing blocks in Hytale.
